I write poetry. My work has appeared in print and online in Isotope, New Delta Review, Wisconsin Academy Review, Blue Fifth Review, Kudzu Review, Stickman Review and Mud Season Review, among others. A complete list of publication credits is linked to this page.
I published my first book – “In the Field, Autobiography of an Inspector” in January 2018. It’s available for order from this website. In Milwaukee, you can buy it at Woodland Pattern.
Since I published “In the Field”, I’ve read (as a feature, or at Open Mic) at Woodland Pattern Book Center, Pentastic, Poet’s Monday and Lyrical Sanctuary in Milwaukee; Suzy’s Steakhouse (Poetry in Portage), Mama D’s Coffee Shop (Wales, WI), Kathie’s Stage Door (Manitowoc), Mother Fool’s (Madison), Room of One’s Own Bookstore (Madison) and Readers Loft Bookstore (Green Bay).
I worked as a waitress, an offset and flexographic press operator, and water purification plant operator. In July of 2016 I retired, after 25-plus years as a food safety inspector for the City of Milwaukee Health Department.
For many years, I served as an officer and newsletter editor for my local of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). I also served as a volunteer member organizer for AFSCME. Since retiring, I’ve been an active volunteer with Ex Fabula; and at the Milwaukee Urban Ecology Center (where I pursue my interest in insects).
I also volunteer with the My Life, My Story program at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
I am available for poetry readings. I’m also available to write features, blog posts and non-fiction articles.
I live and work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Contact me here:
